Dancehall icon Vybz Kartel has revealed that his forthcoming album, God and Time, will mark a deliberate shift in his lyrical approach, moving away from traditional “gangster lyrics” and toward more reflective themes and music tailored to his female fan base. In an Instagram video shared over the weekend, the 50-year-old deejay announced that the project will emphasize romance, collaboration, and introspection. Kartel described the album as a well-rounded body of work, featuring numerous collaborators and songs aimed squarely at women, while still offering deeper, more thoughtful material for male listeners. “The album ah go sick, trust me. Whole heap ah collaborations, whole heap ah songs for the girls dem,” Kartel said. “We nah do certain type a lyrics, nuh gangsta lyrics. The girls dem ago love it.
